Look at what we found in our yard…

Two weeks ago when I mowed the lawn, I ran over what appeared to be a spider’s nest.  I later went over it with the weed whacker, but it looked like the web just kept getting pulled out.  Then I noticed what was beneath the “web”.

Mice.

Then I thought we’d have to call the exterminator because their nest was close to our garage and along the foundation.  I let it go for a few days until my family was over to watch the Wings trounce the Ducks last Sunday.  My brother Eric said he would go out there and kill the mice, but when he came back after looking at them, said “I can’t, they’re too cute.”  So he decided to get a glove and a box to take them to the nearby woods.

When he returned, he proclaimed “Hey guys, I think they’re bunnies!”  And sure enough, he had 9 little baby bunnies inside the box.

We decided to let nature do its thing and put them back into the their little rabbit hole.  We marked the area with a stake sprinkler so we made sure not to step on it.  We haven’t seen any sign of a mother and every time we have checked on them, they were just hiding out in the hole.

Today I had to mow the lawn again, so we checked them before I started.  The bunnies were all outside the hole!  We could only find 5 of them and one ran off underneath the neighbor’s patio, but we kept them in the box until we were done mowing.  Then we took the opportunity to take some neat photos of them!  Afterwards, 4 of them hopped off, and I think we now only have 1 remaining.  Let’s hope they make it!

Blue Jackets (3) vs Red Wings (2) and an Awesome Rainbow

On Friday we went to the Jackets and Wings game.  It is one of the few Wings games we are able to make this year, so we were pretty stoked about going.  We got there early for the warmup and got some great pictures again.  The Blue Jackets won the game but it was very intensely played by both sides.  My fraternity brother, Pat, went to the game with us and we had a good time.  People gave us weird looks because a Jackets fan was hanging out with two Wings fans.  Next week we are going back to see the Jackets and the Ducks because I HATE the Ducks.  View the whole gallery here.

I also took some pictures of two rainbows outside our house after a thunderstorm last week.  Nice pictures! :)

Painted Master Bathroom

This past weekend we painted our master bathroom.  My mom helped and the extra hands gave us a boost in finishing the job well.  We decided on a blue-green color because of a Greek painting we found during the summer.  The painting depicts a Greek seaside town so the color choice naturally fits the painting.  We also chose black and white accessories for a bit of a striking contrast.

We have started painting the interior of our house.  We started with the downstairs half bathroom and chose a copper color.  Here are the before and after shots.  We are not sure what we will paint next or what color, but this was a great starting point!

Update: Rearranged and added more before and after pictures.  The lit artwork is a Christmas gift my brother gave me and really looks neat in there!
